Terms of service

Your account

You must be 18 or older and use a real business or personal name. You are responsible for what happens under your login. Sign-in is handled by Clerk; keep your credentials to yourself.

What Clox does and doesn’t do

Clox lets you create invoices, send them by email, and get paid by card. Payments go straight into your own Stripe account. Clox never holds your money, never takes a percentage of it, and cannot move it. Stripe’s card fees apply and are between you and Stripe.

Clox is not an accountant, a tax adviser, or a collections agency. Invoices are yours, their contents are yours, and whether they comply with your local tax rules is yours to check.

Stripe

To take card payments you open a Stripe connected account through Clox and accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement. Stripe decides whether to approve you, holds your funds, and handles payouts, refunds, and disputes from your Stripe dashboard. If Stripe closes your account, Clox can’t reopen it.

Pricing

The trial lets you send 3 invoices for free with no card on file; drafts are unlimited. After that, Pro costs $15 a month or $120 a year, billed through Stripe. Cancel anytime from the billing page; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. We don’t refund partial periods.

Prices may change with 30 days’ notice by email. A change never applies to a period you’ve already paid for.

Your content

Invoices, client records, your logo, and your business details belong to you. You give Clox permission to store, render, email, and display them only to run the service. Public invoice pages carry a “Sent with clox” line while you’re on the trial; Pro can switch it off.

Acceptable use

Don’t use Clox to invoice for anything illegal, to send unsolicited mail, or to impersonate someone. Don’t probe, scrape, or overload the service. We may suspend accounts that do, and we’ll tell you why.

Ending things

You can close your account by emailing hello@clox.app; we delete it within 30 days, keeping only the records tax law requires. We may end the service or your account with 30 days’ notice, or immediately for abuse. Your invoices stay exportable until deletion.

Liability

Clox is provided as is. We work to keep it up, but we don’t promise it will never be down or lose data, and we aren’t liable for lost revenue, unpaid invoices, or anything Stripe or your client does. Our total liability to you is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits; where that’s you, they apply as far as the law allows.

Changes and law

We’ll email you about material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas. Questions: hello@clox.app.
