Effective 2026-09-06

The short version: Clox stores what it needs to make and send your invoices, shares it only with the services that run Clox, never sells it, and never shows ads. Here’s the long version, which is still short. The controller is Syntexa LLC, doing business as Clox.

What we store

Your account: name, email, business name, logo, address, country, currency, time zone, default tax rate, and a Stripe account ID. Your clients: name, email, company, and address, entered by you. Your invoices: line items, amounts, notes, dates, status, and when a client first opened the invoice page. Billing: a Stripe customer ID and subscription status, never card numbers. Which “coming soon” features you clicked, so we know what to build.

What we don’t store

Card details (Stripe handles them end to end), passwords (Clerk handles sign-in), your clients’ IP addresses, or browsing behaviour. Clox runs no analytics or advertising scripts and sets no tracking cookies. The only cookie is the one that keeps you signed in.

Your clients’ data

You enter your clients’ details to invoice them; Clox holds that data on your behalf and uses it only to render, email, and display their invoices. If a client asks about their data, point them to you, and email us if you need help fulfilling a request.

Who else sees it

The services that run Clox, each under its own privacy policy and contract: Clerk (sign-in), Convex (database and functions), Vercel (web hosting), Stripe (payments and subscriptions), and Resend (email delivery). Invoice emails go out from mail.clox.app with your business name as the sender and replies routed to your address.

If you connect an AI assistant to Clox on Pro, it can read your invoices and create drafts with the access you grant, and you can revoke that access in your account settings. Nobody else sees your data, unless the law requires it.

Where and how long

Data is stored in the United States. We keep your data while your account exists. Close your account and we delete it within 30 days, except invoice records we’re legally required to keep for tax purposes, which we keep only as long as required.

Your rights

You can export your invoices as PDF at any time. Email hello@clox.app to see, correct, or delete anything we hold about you; we answer within 30 days. If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, you have the rights those laws give you, and we honour them regardless of where you are.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll email you at least 14 days before it takes effect. The date at the top is always current. Questions: hello@clox.app.
